Whether you have been there or not, it is likely that you have heard about the infamous gravity hill here in Rohnert Park.
This unexplainable mystery spot has been a traditional place for students to visit and try to come up with their own explanation as to why their car rolls uphill.
Some say it is an optical illusion, while others choose to believe the ghost story.
As the story goes, there was a school bus full of children driving down gravity hill and when the bus hit the dip (where the gravity hill phenomena occurs) the bus driver lost control and drove over the cliff, killing everyone inside.
Now when people go up to gravity hill and experience their car being pulled uphill, it is rumored that it is the children from the bus pushing your car away from the crash site.
Some choose to believe the ghost story because it makes the experience more eerie and fun, while others just think of it as an optical illusion.
Chelsea Poovey, a senior from Chico State, first thought it was an illusion, but after hearing the ghost story thought differently.
"Gravity hill was the trippiest thing I have ever experienced," Poovey explained.
Poovey went on to say that what was really creepy was how the car moved at different speeds uphill while the car was sitting in neutral.
She said hearing the ghost story definitely changed the way she perceived the whole experience.
Although gravity hill is somewhat of a legend here in Rohnert Park, a lot of the locals don't know where it is located or what to do once they are up at the hill itself. As someone who has been there and taken lots of friends, let me enlighten you.
Go down East Cotati Avenue towards Petaluma Hill Road, and then make a right on Petaluma Hill. Less then a mile down, you will make a left on Roberts Road and stay to the left.
