Dear Editor,
I'm writing to say HOORAY! for professor Shepard Bliss' article, "Turning over a new leaf." Several mornings, when walking to my office in the morning, I have been annoyed by the cacophonous noise emitted by those ghastly leaf blowers.
It is especially frustrating when, during the drive to work, I would hear on the radio that it is a "Spare the air" day, or if it had rained the night before, the fallen leaves are clinging stubbornly to the pathways, which require extra, UNNECESSARY effort to clear them away.
I, wholeheartedly, support Bliss' comment that SSU needs to follow a green campus. I hope the SSU administration and gardeners seriously consider doing away with unnecessary usage of leaf blowers. With sincere thanks to Bliss,
