Dear Editor,

Earlier this semester the STAR published an article about the Faculty-Evaluated Prior Learning Program at SSU (Sept. 21: Re-entry Program Merges Career and Education). Our thanks to the STAR and to staff writer

Brian Belding for an interesting and informative piece about this valuable program which has helped many re-entry students save time and money toward their undergraduate degrees by earning college credit for life/work/volunteer learning experiences. Students who qualify for the maximum allowable 30 units can save close to 50% of a years tuition.

Your article generated several inquiries about the program, and so we'd like to inform your readers that we will be offering the Portfolio Workshop, the gateway course to the FEPL program, in Spring 2006 through the School of Extended Education (UNIV 310, class #3637), Wednesdays, Feb.15 May 17, 5:00-7:40 pm. Class meetings will be divided between on-campus and online

sessions. For more information, interested students should log on to: http:/www.ssuexed.com/course.php?id=956&sem=Spring&year=2006 or contact us at mccaffry@sonoma.edu or inese@sonic.net Thank you.
