When music is your passion very little can deter you from your path. At least that is the attitude the members of Work For Revenge possess. What makes them even better is the fact that you can hear them when walking through SSU's Sauvignon Village.
That's right, SSU's very own rock band. Not all the members of the band attend SSU. Altogether there are four guys: Lead vocals and rhythm guitarist is Daniel Padilla, playing the bass guitar is Cyle Swanstrom, lead guitarist is SSU's Peter Imsand and last, but not least, fellow Seawolf Cole Souza plays the drums. Altogether these boys rack up a lifetime of experience; however, the life of their band is still in its infancy.
The band was born in July of 2005 and it was conceived in the Zinfandel dorms here at SSU. Cole and Peter, drummer and lead guitarist, first met while neighbors in Traminer. Once they both established their passion for music they decided to meet up and have "jam sessions".
They were so loud that they ended up waking Traminer village. This resulted in both good and bad. Veteran Traminer resident Peggy Badii recalls her first encounter. Peter and Cole were playing so loud that it made her walls shake. Peggy ended up calling her CSA, but after the incident she ended up falling for their original tunes. She's become their number one fan. Both Cole and Peter are sophomores here at SSU. Although they are not music majors, they did share the conviction that they would sacrifice their college degree in order to pursue a musical career. It might sound foolish, but when you listen to their music it is unquestionable as to why they would risk it. They sound amazing.
Although some members attend SSU, two do not. Non-SSU members Cyle and Daniel joined the band a little later. First Daniel, long time friend of Peter, joined the band. Although the three man show was fun it just wasn't good enough. The band members decided that they needed a new member. Work For Revenge needed a permanent bass guitarist, so they did what any band would do, they posted a wanted ad on Craigslist. In no more than a week, they heard back from Cyle. He lives in the same town as Peter and knows a lot about music. He shares the passion that all the members possess. Cyle was immediately let in and the rest is history in the making.
