"No angel sent from heaven, no writing on the wall, no sudden revelation from the supernatural. Is it the way I fall to pieces, every time that I'm with you, I come a little more undone. Is it the way you get inside my head and I can't help but pray, I fall," follow lyrics from Micah and Lori Wilshire's 200 album, "Second Story."

Second Story is a contemporary Christian CD that speaks the gospel to listeners in a fresh and inspirational way.

The CD contains songs such as "Fall," "Be Yours, Brave," "Angelina," "The Prayer," that discuss the problems many individuals face in a broken world, and the promise of hope through Jesus Christ.

Second Story was released Nov. 7, 2000, and was produced, arranged and each lyric written by Micah and Lori Wilshire. Both Wilshires perform the vocals, Micah plays the electric and bass guitars and Lori accompanies him on the acoustic guitar. Lori wrote the majority of the songs in Second Story, but Micah also contributed his song-writing abilities on a couple of the songs.

"Second Story" consists of a total of eleven songs and the music is a combination of rock, pop, alt-country and soul.

Fellow artists U2, The Pretenders and Emmy Lou Harris influence the Wilshires' music. However, theirs is a style that many critics have classified as simply "Wilshire."

Most of the songs in "Second Story" have a fast and upbeat tempo, with a few exceptions, like "Tonight," and "The Prayer," that possess a slow harmony of the guitars and a soft melody.

"Tonight" creates the image of one long slow dance, a 'love song,' the lyrics speak of, that embraces the love of the young couple.

Though "The Prayer" contains a similar rhythm and style, the lyrics are about a simple prayer to God for strength in times of trouble.

Lori sings this song solo and puts the listener in a trance with her angelic voice and quiet confidence.

All the songs in "Second Story" are modern, beautifully romantic, and the ultimate devotion of the Wilshires to each other and most importantly, to God.
