The position of Vice-President of Finance for which I am seeking re-election for is an executive position of Associated Students that's primary duties are to oversee the current year's budget and draft the following year's budget. In addition to maintaining a balanced budget for the current and following fiscal year, I propose to you a CONTRACT WITH SSU. That is, a written commitment with no fine print that will unite student government officers toward a common cause. Through the contract I challenge all the officers of student government to take on the following: Increase Short Term Loan Amount made available to each individual student; Add a Professional Staff Member to serve as an advisor to ASI Senators; Expand the Peer-on-Peer Advising Program; Amend the Center for Student Involvement, Leadership & Service into its own distinct Fund; Design an annual 'Professor of the Year' Award If elected the ASI Senate will bring to the Senate floor resolutions addressing each of the following externally related issues, each to be given a clear and fair vote. Tipsy Taxi; New University Center; New Student Housing; Negotiating a reduction in on campus food costs with Sonoma State Enterprises; Improve Campus Safety through additional lighting; Compel the Academic Senate to reform the General Education pattern; Compel the Academic Senate to re-evaluate the university policy on Honors at Graduation. If elected, I hereby pledge my name to this contract.
