The Seawolves won their eighth straight game to remain undefeated in conference play with a 2-1 victory over UC San Diego on Friday, Sept. 29. The win gives SSU 24 points for the season, 9 points more than any other team in the CCAA.
SSU fell behind early in San Diego, but tied the game midway through the second half with another Andrew Bailey goal, his seventh of the year. The Seawolves scored again with less than four minutes to play when junior Mike Travis knocked in his second goal of the year to seal the victory.
Women's soccer falls to #13 UC San Diego
SSU's women's soccer team traveled down the California coast to take on the #13 ranked UC San Diego Tritons, but came away with a 1-4 loss against the CCAA's best team.
The Seawolves held the Tritons in check througout the first half, and battled back to tie the game at 1-1 when freshman Tracy Webster scored in the 66th minute, but three unanswered UC San Diego goals proved too much for SSU.
Volleyball team struggles against the Tritons
The Seawolves lost in straight sets to UC San Diego, the 13th-ranked women's volleyball team in the nation.
Junior Lillian Harms led the team with 20 digs, and junior Michelle Fletcher accounted for a team-high 11 kills.
The loss drops SSU to 6-7 overall and 3-6 in the CCAA.
