As he makes his fifth-year debut as a member of the Athletic Department, Brandon Bronzan is happy to say he doing something that he loves.

After graduating from Sonoma State in 2001, Brandon did a little work with the Athletic Department while going to school, and was then called back to take on a full-time position when he graduated. For the past few years, he has worked as SSU's Sports Information Director, responsible for reporting stats, scores and rosters to the NCAA and working with other director's in the conference. He is also present at every athletic event on campus, and even travels with the teams once in awhile, like when he went to Arizona with the men's basketball team two years ago.

Recently, Brandon was promoted, and now also takes on the role of Assistant Athletic Director. Along with his previous responsibilities, Brandon assumed the job of developing the new athletic website, hiring new photographers to take pictures at every SSU sports event in order to post on the webpage.

Mimicking the CCAA website's style, and changing from an .edu to .com heading, the new webpage looks very professional.

Brandon is also in charge of making sure that anything that goes to the media, such as press releases, scores, stats etc. goes through his office first.

"I work a normal 9-5 day most of the time, but things can get kind of crazy around here, especially in the Spring when we have basketball still going on along with all seven spring sports," said Brandon.

After witnessing the great feedback that the new website got, Brandon is eager to make other changes, which includes eventually working with other members of the athletic department to re-create the athletic facilities on campus.

"We are making a lot of steps towards improvement, and after the reaction to the website we know that anything is possible really," said Brandon.

Playing numerous sports his whole life and running track and cross country at a J.C., Brandon has always known he wanted to work in sports.

"It's pretty sad really, I deal with sports all day and then go home just to turn on ESPN," he said.

His love of sports is extremely helpful in being able to do his job everyday, and working with the students, coaches and other members of the athletic department. Brandon mainly credits his love of his job to the great coaching staff, players and his co-workers at Sonoma State who make the demanding job that much easier.

"This isn't the kind of job you do if you don't like sports," said Brandon. "Yes it can get tough, but the great working environment makes it worth it."
