Are there any Something Corporate fans out there?

Well, frontman Andrew McMahon beat leukemia and has taken off with his solo project Jack's Mannequin.

The band is currently on the road for their West Coast Winter Tour, hitting all the major cities including San Francisco.

"It's incredible to see someone beat leukemia and jump right back into touring," senior Jessica Harker commented.

"McMahon is truly an inspiration and an amazing musician."

On Saturday, February 3rd, Jack's Mannequin played a sold out show at The Warfield with supporting bands Head Automatica, The Audition, and Get Back Loretta.

The opening bands were decent, but Jack's Mannequin definitely stole the show. All of the popular Jack's Mannequin songs were played, plus a few Something Corporate melodies, and even a cover of "Message in a Bottle" by The Police was thrown in for good measure.

While he was playing the piano McMahon was in arms reach of the usual bottles of water, as well as a bottle of Jägermeister and a small Buddha statue. Hey, if that's what it takes to get those amazing lyrics out of McMahon, then it's fine by me.

"McMahon is a very animated performer, even when he is banging the piano keys," stated junior Lauren Sommerhauser, after the show.

If you missed Jack's Mannequin, definitely consider catching them the next time they come around.

Want to attend a concert soon? Don't worry; shows occur almost daily in San Francisco.

Don't miss Snow Patrol playing at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on March 1st, or Taking Back Sunday at the Concourse on March 14th.
