There are three things in life that I know to be certain. Death, taxes, and that Robert Redford was good looking in 1967.

Most people will agree with me on the first two topics and I'm pretty sure few will question the third. However, all three are very true.

Proof is in the pudding in "Barefoot in the Park", a movie from 1967, in which Redford costars with Jane Fonda.

It's about a mismatched newlywed couple trying to work out their differences. Fonda plays a free-spirited impulsive young woman named Corie who doesn't understand the conservative ways of her new husband, Paul (Redford). Paul is neither free-spirited nor impulsive. He's a practical, levelheaded attorney who needs structure in his life.

After encountering a bunch of obscure obstacles like moving into a sixth floor apartment with no elevator and a drunken upstairs neighbor, Paul attempts to show Corie that he is capable of spontaneity and walks barefoot in the park.

The film was adapted from a Neil Simon play and is said to be his best work. It's a darling movie and the chemistry between Fonda and Redford definitely makes you want the couple to work things out.

I consider it Robert Redford's best work. He's young and blonde and wears dapper business suits throughout the movie.

I'm a fan of Redford now, but I must admit he's encountered some wear and tear along the way.

In 1967, though, there wasn't a gray hair or wrinkle in site, possibly due to the fact that he was only 31 at the time. Oh yeah, and he's a great actor.

If you're ever in the mood for a cute mismatched romantic comedy or need a good Robert Redford fix, pick up this DVD.
