Leo Flowers is a native of Chicago who has worked his way through comedy clubs and colleges across the country, from LA to Boston.
He has been known to blend social commentary and political satire in with his own personal and family anecdotes.
According to his website, www.leoflowers.com, his stand-up has been described by many as "smart," "edgy," and "hilarious!" Flowers was recently named runner-up in the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition.
He also finished taping his first live stand-up DVD "Fighting Words" as well as co-hosting MTV's "Sports Blender". For more information on Leo Flowers and his stand-up, check out his page on MySpace at www.myspace.com/leoflowers.
His website doesn't disappoint, I'm always skeptical of comic reviews because I want to know if the show will be laugh out loud funny or not before I actually go.
So, while browsing his site I came across some clips of his stand-up and after watching a few of them I am confident in saying that Flowers is going to start the comedy series off right this semester. You don't want to miss this one! If you don't believe me then I suggest you go and check it out for yourself.
Also helping to jumpstart the Free Pizza Series will be Mike E. Winfield. Winfield hails from Baltimore, Maryland and has often been referred to as an 'up-and-coming' comedian but he has the talent, confidence and background to be considered a seasoned vet in the business.
Winfield has appeared on B.E.T.'s ComicView, opened up for other famous comedians like Tommy Davidson as well as being a finalist in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition.
To get more information on Mike E. Winfield you can check him out on his website at www.mikewinfield.com or on his MySpace page at www.myspace.com/mikeewinfield.
So come on out to the opening show of the semester on Thursday the 22nd for free food (don't be late the pizza goes FAST!) and laughs.
