The Awkwardness of First Dates

Imagine this. You're at a restaurant, having dinner with a few of your friends and all of sudden this guy comes up to you out of no where and says, "If I could rearrange the alphabet, I would so put U and I together baby."
Come on guys, pick up lines? Really? You don't have to come up with these cheesy pick up lines to get a girl. Girls want a guy who is not cheesy; all we ask for is for a guy to be genuinely sweet and honest. That's all.
And ladies, I know some of you may think that the way to get a guy is by showing off your breasts and other things, but the thing is…it's not! I honestly think that by being honest with a guy and being straight up about how you feel then they'll have more respect for you.
First, I just have to say that I really do feel sorry for us girls because of all the pigs we have to go through. And I'm not going to lie, it really sucks that this school is about 70 percent girls. It's hard to find guys, let alone descent ones. And then we have to deal with dumb pick up lines like, "hey baby how you doing?" Sorry boys, but that only works if you're Joey Tribbiani. It just makes the situation very awkward and makes you look stupid.
How crappy is it when a guy takes you out and things start out pretty well and then all of a sudden, there's awkward silence? That to me is so not fun. It's like how can you be so cute yet so dumb? Just be yourself and have a conversation.
Although, I honestly think some guys are to blame for the awkwardness because of some the stupid things they choose to say. I mean when you tell a girl she's beautiful, say it like you mean it and not like you're just trying to get some. Although, many really are just trying to get in our pants.
Seriously guys, you need to step up the game here! I mean there are tons of girls here, whom I am sure are looking for someone. So if you need to practice, please do. What are you waiting for?
Don't get me wrong though, I mean I know girls can be just as bad on a date as a guy can be. Trust me, I have been on a double date before and the other girl was just plain ditzy, it drives me crazy! Trying to be cute by acting dumb just isn't working. I mean I have never in my whole life have ever heard a girl talk about herself as much as this chick did. And on top of that she was asking the most awkward, crazy questions ever. It was absolutely horrible and I felt so bad for the guy. So I definitely feel for you men out there.
