Often times, there are many issues in our world that people are afraid to tackle. As such, there are those brave individuals that take it upon themselves to speak about such things for the benefit of the larger whole.

Flooding the airwaves with his outspoken antics is Kevin Maag from "K. Maag in the Morning." Maag is a first-year political science major at Sonoma State University but above all, this outspoken individual is spreading his thoughts and concerns about the issues that are the most prevalent to SSU.

Maag's own roommate Jake Tumas, a freshman at SSU, suggested the show's clever title, "K. Maag in the Morning."

"The best show names are come up with by roommates," said fellow DJ Anthony Marafat. Apparently it's a trend at KSUN.

Yet, it's precisely this type of communal atmosphere that proves to be the proper breeding ground for Maag's articulate opinions.

From global warming to sporting events, Maag has a specific view of the world, and refuses to sugar coat his feelings for the airwaves.

Maag refuses to compromise his view on current events, but provides listeners with sound arguments for his case.

The first half of the show is 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and Maag explains this is the hour of politics. In this segment, he also covers current events and illustrates how these events relate to our community.

It's here that Maag is at his most talkative, spilling his mind for those tuning in.

As a native of the Los Angeles area, Maag was inspired by the popular L.A. talk radio shows in the region.

His reasoning for modeling his show after their general template is that Los Angeles is the biggest media market in America.

It's his idea that channeling their professionalism will bring some credibility to his own show.

At the moment Maag's family and friends are his main supporters.

"After my first show I had about 25 emails in my inbox, all from family. With many congratulations and constructive criticisms." said Maag.

When asked about his state of mind before going on air, the ever-confident Maag replied humbly, "Yes, I am nervous before every show."
