This was the song that was playing as I stepped into The Commons on March 13 for a St. Patrick's Day dance here at Sonoma State. Although, I have been to many dances before, I have never experienced a dance quite like this one.
Everyone was dressed up in green clothing, which was nice because some people don't dress up for the holidays anymore. It was exciting to see all the different ideas that people had for their outfits, but some were just a little to over the top. The little to no apparel wasn't the only thing that I noticed. Many of the students were heavily intoxicated.
I know that everyone drinks before they go out and that is totally fine, but some people just don't know their limit when it comes to alcohol or the way they dance for that matter.
It's one thing to drink, to have fun, and be social with others, but it's another thing when people drink way too much to where they can't control what they do.
When I was at the dance everywhere I turned there was at least one person throwing up, whether it was in the restroom or outside on the cement. It was disgusting.
I think that whoever puts on these dances should be a bit more strict about who is allowed in and out of the dance. Some people who come completely wasted make the dance not as much fun for others.
I really don't even know where to begin with the dancing. First off, some of the dresses that some of these girls were wearing were WAY too short. I will admit, they were cute, and I can see where they were going with it, but I felt they just weren't appropriate.
Here is a tip for the ladies: if you're going to wear a short tight dress can you please wear underwear! I much rather dance without seeing all of your body parts.
The dancing was horrible! These people might as well have been having sex on the dance floor with the way they were dancing. I thought the dances in high school were bad, but boy was I wrong.
